SUMMARY
Women in Tech held their 2024 North America Awards at La Maison Française to celebrate the achievements of women from across the US and Canada. Following a welcome by Regional Director Nyla Beth Gawel and President and Founder Ayumi Moore Aoki, the organization honored nominees across nine categories: Aspiring Teen Most Disruptive Best Ally Most Impactful Initiative Woman in Web3 Tech Diplomacy Green Start-Up Global Leadership Lifetime Achievement Looking forward to November, The 7th edition of the Women in Tech Global Awards will be held in Paris on the 14th. This prestigious event is the culmination of a three-month world tour featuring seven regional awards across LATAM, North America, Africa, Europe, APAC, MENA, and Caucasus and Central Asia. The winners from each of the nine award categories in these regions will converge in Paris to compete for the global titles. The awardees are: Aspiring Teen: Mary Adegbesan, Founder & Executive Director, CTRL Code Most Disruptive: Yuexing Hao, Ph.D., Research Fellow, Cornell University Best Ally: Barbara Grofic, Astrophysics Project Division Head, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Most Impactful Initiative: Andrea Mohamed, COO & Co-Founder, Quantum Bloom Woman in Web3: Sandy Carter, COO, Unstoppable Domains Tech Diplomacy: Nadine Farid Johnson, Policy Director, Columbia University Greentech Start-Up: Tonya Hicks, President, Smart Home Energy (SHE) Global Leadership: Jennie Blumenthal, Co-Founder, Ellevoy Lifetime Achievement: Paula Hunter, Executive Director, Mojaloop Foundation.
